Push On / Push Off Power/Arming Switch

Double-pole double-throw contacts rated at 1 ampere. Contact sets can be wired in parallel for redundancy or can switch two independent circuits (e.g. arming switch for drogue and main). Can be wired to provide "ON" function when pushed in or when released. See miniAlt/WD manual for picture.

Push On / Push Off Power/Arming Switch Installation Suggestions

Installation of POPO push on/push off switches in 5.5" altimeter bay

Two POPO switches are used in this installation to control dual altimeters (the altimeters ride on a plywood plate to be mounted on top of the two batteries). The switches are mounted with their centers in line with the plane created by the threaded rods so the activation holes can be drilled in the airframe exactly 180 degrees apart. The activation holes also serve as pressure sampling holes for the altimeters. Note connections in detail diagram â both sets of contacts are wired in parallel for redundancy. The lower switch (detailed) is wired to turn ON when the switch plunger is OUT, the upper switch is wired to turn ON when the switch plunger is IN. The altimeter's power-up beep sequence provides audible confirmation of switch activation.

Installation of POPO push on/push off switches in 4" altimeter bay

Two POPO switches are also used in this installation to control dual altimeters (one complete set is visible, an identical set is mounted on the opposite side of the plate). Switches should be mounted as close to centerline of plate as possible so they can be activated by "straight in" insertion of screwdriver or other tool. As in the previous example, contacts are in parallel wired for maximum redundancy. Brass bolts through end plates allow easy attachment of ematch wires with gas-tight seal.
